Matt Reid

Winemaker & General Manager

Born in Chicago and raised in Northern Virginia, Matt made San Francisco his home in 1993. After earning his M.S. in Viticulture & Enology from UC-Davis in 2003, Matt dove straight into the world of winemaking during that year’s harvest. With a dynamic career spanning roles at Seavey, Failla, and Quixote, his journey culminated in joining Benessere as winemaker in 2013. Matt’s unwavering determination, commitment, and genuine passion have consistently delivered exceptional wines. We’re excited about his recent promotion and eagerly anticipate his impactful leadership as General Manager. Beyond the winery, Matt cherishes moments of snow skiing with his daughter, the thrill of foraging for wild mushrooms, indulging in extensive reading, and crafting delectable dishes through his love for cooking. Complementing these passions, Matt dedicates himself to education, serving on the Calistoga school board, actively contributing to the betterment of his community’s educational endeavors. He’s approaching the end of his term, so get ready to see his name on the ballot this fall, fishing for your vote!

Travis Scarborough

DTC Manager

Travis, a local from just minutes away from the winery, has roots deeply embedded in the Napa Valley. After graduating from Sonoma State’s Wine Business program, he ventured to Seattle, WA, to explore the wine industry as part of his ongoing education. After 17 years away, he returned to his beloved Napa Valley roots, joining Benessere Vineyards.

Travis’s journey into wine began early, crafting his first wine at 19 years old. Though he admits it wasn’t the finest, it ignited a passion for all things wine. With experience spanning various facets of the wine industry, his dedication shines, particularly in his love for Italian varietals, making his role at Benessere Vineyards a perfect fit.

When not immersed in the world of wine, Travis treasures moments with his family, cooking alongside his wife, and teeing off on the golf course with his dad.

Robert Hattaway

Office Manager

Bob began his career in the wine business in 1976 and over the last 48 years has been involved in almost every aspect of fine wine sales and marketing including retail, restaurant, wholesale, and winery operations. He relocated to the Napa Valley in 1980 and has worked for some of the most illustrious wineries in the Valley including Chateau Montelena, Grgich Hills, Corison Winery, Cocker & Starr, and most importantly, Benessere Vineyards, where he has served in a more administrative capacity for the last eight years.

Bob is an avid chef and loves to experiment with a different cuisine almost every day. Outside of the kitchen he spends most of his time monitoring his personal investments and delving into family history. His wife, Liubov, also assists us with special events here at the winery from time to time.

Brad Zorn

Assistant Tasting Room Manager

Brad brings over a decade of wine country experience to the Benessere Vineyards team, though his roots trace back to the San Fernando Valley in LA County. After earning his Bachelor’s degree in Wine Business from Sonoma State University, he launched his career at a winery in the Russian River Valley. Six years later, he found his home at Benessere Vineyards. When Brad isn’t hard at work, he’s out enjoying the great outdoors through fishing, hiking, and camping. He’s also passionate about cooking, with a particular fondness for preparing Korean-inspired Braised and Seared Pork Belly – a dish that reflects his culinary creativity and adventurous palate.

We’re thrilled to welcome Stuart to the Benessere family! Though relatively new to the wine industry, his passion and curiosity are truly contagious. Stuart has been captivated by the world of wine and eagerly immerses himself in all aspects of viniculture.

Outside of work, you’ll often find Stuart delving into his wine interests, whether it’s listening to wine podcasts, diving into the pages of the Wine Bible, or engaging our winemaker, Matt, with technical questions.
